Compassion. Care. Competence.

All of us at Hermanus Animal Hospital feel blessed and grateful to be a part of this wonderful community. Being able to contribute and give back give us great joy. For this reason, we started the Hermanus & Overberg CVC (Community Veterinary Clinic), a non-profit organization that helps animals whose human parents can’t afford veterinary care. More about the CVC here.

Our vets regularly participate in pro bono, hands-on education for all ages – from animal talks at primary schools to animal dissections for Grade 11 and 12 Biology and Natural Science learners.

Hermanus Animal Hospital also sponsors and helps with pet shows at schools and other venues.

What clients love about us

… We also got to know Dr Dirk Greyling, who is a very professional, excellent vet and a very competent surgeon. He helped us with so many of Jamie and Cammo’s consultations and surgeries over the past 6 years.
In the last 2 years, we also got to know Dr Armand Algera who also assisted us, in a very professional and helpful way.
We love the efficient and friendly staff, always ready to assist. It is a special bonus that Madelein is part of the team.
We are very blessed, happy and glad to have HAH as our Vets. [Shortened]

They have truly performed miracles with my beloved German Shepherd Dog (GSD) and have shown unwavering dedication throughout her treatment. Michelle and Dirk never gave up, even during challenging times when she faced setbacks. Their commitment to her well-being and willingness to go above and beyond, keeping me informed every step of the way, have been truly remarkable. I cannot thank Michelle and Dirk enough for their expertise, compassion, and genuine care for my 4-legged kid. I trust them implicitly with my pet’s health and happiness. I wouldn’t have anyone else treating her. [Shortened]

We relocated from Gauteng in 2002 with cats and dogs in tow. We met Dr Sandy Waddingham fairly soon after our arrival and very soon became clients. We were most impressed with the professionalism of all staff members. The change of ownership as a result of Dr Sandy’s passing was seamless and we are still very satisfied clients.

Sylvana Doran

I was 6 years old when I brought Cujo, my very first dog, to Hermanus Animal Hospital. That was 29 years ago and since then my family and I felt assured that our pets have access to the best medical care. It warms my heart to know that the entire team, the veterinarians and the receptionists all really care about my dog.
